Designer Ray says; Irish people have a tendency to get a bit upset if you shop somewhere other than Penneys. If we are complimented on an item of clothing we are wearing, the appropriate and humble response isn’t to say thank you – it’s to say, “it’s Penneys”. However, if the item of clothing is from somewhere expensive, then the only option is to say “I got it in a shop – IN A SALE”. This is absolutely critical, otherwise you will be seen to have an illness known as “pure notions”. 😜

During the pandemic and subsequent lockdowns I found I had more time in the evenings to revisit my favourite Irish movies. As a designer I challenged myself to condense the subject matter into brief sketches. These were the most poignant, funny or clever aspects of the films that resonated with me."
