Ray (the designer) says "
As a father to my beautiful four year old girl Nia, I am prone to the very odd ‘F-BOMB’ in her presence. I am not on Gordan Ramsey’s level nor do I use profanity as liberally as a sailor, but I do have my moments. Kids pick up on everything, that’s why the recovery is an essential art in parenting.
On one such occasion, I was watching Ireland play and ultimately lose to Luxembourg. Luxembourg! When the aforementioned team of plumbers and insurance salesmen scored I shouted at the TV, “For fu… FOX SAKE”. What followed was a rigorous line of questioning from Nia about the possible presence of foxes at the match. I of course handled the situation calmly and maturely and told Nia to go ask her mother😜😂."
About Ray Hurley
About Ray Hurley
"For such a small nation, Ireland has a rich tapestry of stories. These tales remind us who we are and where we came from. Movies entertain, inspire and delight us. They question our morals and expose us to new ways of thinking.
During the pandemic and subsequent lockdowns I found I had more time in the evenings to revisit my favourite Irish movies. As a designer I challenged myself to condense the subject matter into brief sketches. These were the most poignant, funny or clever aspects of the films that resonated with me." Now, I love illustrating prints based on film, nostalgia & Ireland." - Ray Hurley.
