Wishing wells are part of Ireland’s magical charm. Near Coolaney, there is a well that is so deep it is rumored to be connected to the tides. Imprinting and use of dark glaze and glass shards create the feeling of depth while delicate porcelain flora and fauna stand out around.
Porcelain, glaze and glass on recessed glass in solid wood frame.
Made by Sharlene Kemple in Coolaney, Sligo. As each piece is handmade, there may be variations between pieces and photos.
About Sharlene Kemple
About Sharlene Kemple
Sharlene Kemple fell in love with porcelain and ceramic relief tile art at the University of Ulster, Belfast. This affinity, together with a lifelong love of beach combing for treasures, results in the designs that inspire her collection’s today. The pieces are intentionally brightly coloured, reflecting a contentment and meaningful enjoyment of a scene or memory. Every piece has a history, a memory or a sense of place within — from her relationship with the coastline of her home, to the adventure days exploring the remarkable landscape of Ireland, Sharlene captures these moments in fine porcelain, glass shards, rich gold, ocean hues and humble clay. All of the work available on this website is handmade, from start to finish, by Sharlene in her studio in Coolaney, Co. Sligo
